Host a Fundraising Event
Thank you for your interest in supporting Susan G. Komen® Minnesota! We are honored and grateful for the opportunities to work with community organizations and individuals who wish to hold a fundraiser to help us fulfill our mission to save lives by meeting the most critical needs in our communities and investing in breakthrough science to prevent and cure breast cancer. If you have any questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Seven ways to support Susan G. Komen Minnesota:
OPTION 1: RAISING MONEY FOR BREAST CANCER AWARENESS
The simplest way to raise money is to advertise your event using terms such as “raising money for breast cancer awareness” or “to aid in the fight against breast cancer”. The color pink and pink ribbons and bows (not the Komen running ribbon) are international symbols for breast cancer awareness. Since they are not registered trademarks you do not require permission for their use. You are free to donate the proceeds of your event to any breast cancer organization. If asked, you may verbally say that you are supporting Susan G. Komen® Minnesota but you cannot use the name in writing.
OPTION 2: COMMUNITY PARTNER FUNDRAISING EVENT
Many people and organizations want to make a difference by raising money to benefit Susan G. Komen Minnesota. One such way is to organize a third party fundraiser. You can participate in an activity that you enjoy while supporting a good cause — the fight against breast cancer.
Komen Minnesota is accountable to the public for fundraising activities using the Komen name. To this end, we require a "Third Party Agreement" be completed, which outlines the details of the event. To obtain a "Third Party Agreement", we ask that you first read through the Fundraising Guidelines. If after you've read the guidelines, you are interested in entering into an agreement with Komen Minnesota, please submit an Event Application at least three weeks prior to the start of your event.
OPTION 3: PASSIONATELY PINK FOR THE CURE®
Wear Pink. Raise Funds. End Breast Cancer Forever! The premise of Passionately Pink for the Cure is simple: Go pink to fight breast cancer! Your group selects a day (or several days) to wear pink, and participants join the fun by making a monetary donation. When you register, you’ll receive your team ID number and a free kit with everything you need — including event day ideas, a promotional poster, a Passionately Pink guidebook, collectors’ pins that feature the Passionately Pink logo, basic breast health information, a donation reply form, a matching gift checklist and a reply envelope to make it easy to return donations to Komen. We encourage you to be creative and make Passionately Pink for the Cure an exciting and educational day for all! For more information about how this great program works, visit www.passionatelypink.org.
OPTION 4: RALLY FOR THE CURE®
Rally for the Cure® is a grassroots program that works to spread awareness about breast health and breast cancer in support of Susan G. Komen®. Rally for the Cure has expanded their well-established golf program to other sports including tennis, dinner events such as wine-tasting, and group/club activities such as a bridge or book clubs. Volunteer “Ambassadors” host and plan the events locally. A registration fee of $20 per person (non-tax-deductible) includes participant favors, event decorations, a contest/prize, and important breast health information. Learn more about becoming a Rally Ambassador at www.rallyforthecure.com.
OPTION 5: DINE OUT FOR THE CURE®
Dine out for the Cure® is a turnkey program that makes it simple for restaurants to support SGK. Restaurants may participate through various time frames such as one day, one week or one month. They will receive a welcome kit that will give them resources to support their fundraising efforts. To get started on your application or to learn more, click here.
OPTION 6: BOWL FOR THE CURE®
Bowl for the Cure® is a year-round fund-raising and breast cancer awareness initiative sponsored by USBC in partnership with Susan G. Komen®, a foundation that has raised more than $1 billion as the world's largest grassroots organization of breast cancer survivors and activists. We encourage you to participate in a Bowl for the Cure® event in your area or organize one of your own. No event or donation is too small to make a difference in the lives of the 200,000 women who will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year. Whether you bring 10 participants or 500 to a bowling center near you, and whether you raise $10 or $10,000, the 2.5 million women who have survived this disease will have you to thank for saving their lives. OPTION 7: COOK FOR THE CURE®
Eat together. Give back. Cook for the Cure® gives people with a passion for cooking a way to support a meaningful cause. The program raises funds and awareness for the fight against breast cancer. From pink products and celebrity chef auctions to home-based fundraising
events, this partnership between KitchenAid and Susan G. Komen® has raised over $9.5 million in the past 13 years. Learn More- Click Here.
