A brand to trust - We are honored that in the Harris Interactive EquiTrend® study released in 2011, that Susan G. Komen ranked among the top two nonprofit brands in equity and as a charity people are most likely to donate to. Komen also ranked in the top 10 of the nation’s most trusted nonprofits. This marks the second consecutive year that Komen received top rankings in these categories.

Grants
Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, the world's largest breast cancer organization, awarded more than $100 million in research grants last year, representing the largest single-year investment in research in the organization's 26-year history and a 30 percent increase over the previous year’s award total of $77 million. The 2011 grants slate moves Komen for the Cure® closer to accomplishing its goal of investing another $2 billion in breast cancer research and community health programs by 2017.
Here in Minnesota, up to 75 percent of the funds donated remain here in Minnesota to cover every step of the breast health journey - from education, outreach, mammograms and diagnostics, to surgeries, chemotherapy, radiation and material and financial support like meals, mortgage payments, child care, prosthetics and wigs. The remaining 25 percent of each dollar donated funds international research. In fact, next to the U.S. government, Susan G. Komen for the Cure is the largest funder of breast cancer research in the world. A Komen grant has touched every major breast cancer breakthrough of the past 29 years.
