Susan G. Komen Brainerd Lakes Race for the Cure
2020 Susan G. Komen Brainerd Lakes Race for the Cure has changed to a Virtual Race on Mother’s Day
Due to the progression of COVID-19 and the risk to the health and safety of participants, volunteers and sponsors, the Susan G. Komen Brainerd Lakes Race for the Cure Committee has decided to not hold the 21st Annual Brainerd Lakes Race for the Cure as a physical event on June 27, 2020. Instead, we will partner with our parent affiliate, Susan G. Komen Minnesota, and field a Brainerd Lakes Team for the virtual Twin Cities Race for the Cure on Mother’s Day, May 10, 2020. Race information and registration details are available on www.komenminnesota.org. When registering, simply choose to join a team and select the Brainerd Lakes Team from the list. All Race t-shirts and bibs will be mailed this year.
Breast cancer has not gone away. Tragically, it still causes over 42,000 deaths in the U.S. each year, including nearly TWO DEATHS IN MINNESOTA EVERY SINGLE DAY. Because we believe so strongly that our efforts are needed for patient support, screening, treatments and research to find the causes and cures, we encourage all our supporters to join the Brainerd Lakes Team for a Mother’s Day virtual walk or run in their own neighborhoods. Or even comfortably ‘Sleep in for the Cure’ knowing that you have contributed to the survival of a family member, friend, colleague or total stranger. Donations can also be made to the Team in lieu of registration if a person does not wish to receive a t-shirt. Thank you in advance for your support!
We LIVE Here. We RACE Here. We SAVE LIVES Here!
