Volunteer Info
Volunteers make it possible to spread the word about breast cancer awareness and to raise funds toward the Komen vision: a world without breast cancer. Without their support, our life-saving events just could not happen. Susan G. Komen for the Cure® volunteers number over 75,000. At our Brainerd Lakes Race, over 200 volunteers help at educational, screening, and fund raising events. There are several ways to become help in this very worthwhile endeavor.
Become Active on a Committee such as Education or Race for the Cure®. You do not have to be a breast cancer survivor or know someone who is to feel a passion for the cause. If you would like to be more active in the organization, join a committee to share your talents and maximize your efforts.
Be a worker bee. Help is needed at many events, whether it be staffing a booth at a health fair or working at some aspect of the annual Race for the Cure®. Many hands make light work and we always need more. This could be only a couple of hours or a half a day, but all are vital to the success of an event. It’s simple to get involved. Download the Volunteer Release form and mail it in, or email our Volunteer Chair on the Contact Us page. We need you!
