Go Passionately Pink to help save lives! — Just wear pink, have fun and raise money to fight breast cancer. Be inspired by the multitude of ideas right here, or think of your own. There are so many creative ways to have fun and fight breast cancer.
Teams are one of the most integral parts of our annual Race for the Cure and embody the Komen philosophy of empowered people. Gather your family, friends, and co-workers together and multiply your efforts by registering as part of a team!
A team consists of a group of people who pre-register for the Race as members of the same team by April 19, 2018 (postmark) or by May 1, 2018 (online). Team members receive all the benefits of individual Race participants plus easy advance T-shirt, Race bib, participant wristband, and placard pick-up by the Team's Captain. The Team Captain must pick up the entire team's materials.
Any person who wishes to be on a team but misses the team registration deadline, may still register and walk with the team. However, they must register as an individual participant and pick up their own T-shirt, Race bib, and participant wristband. Their materials will NOT be included in the team packet picked up by the Team Captain. Individual registrant's materials will be available beginning May 11, 2018 at Individual Packet Pick-Up.
Team packet pick-up is available at SOUTHDALE CENTER, level 1 at the following times (Team Captain or designee picks up all materials for the entire team/all registered members!):
Wednesday, May 9, 2018, from 12:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Thursday, May 10, 2018, from 12:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Friday, May 11, 2018, from 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Saturday, May 12, 2018, from 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Sunday, May 13, 2018, from 6:00 AM - 9:30 AM
*The Team Captain will create the team AND register themselves at the same time!
If you are interested in being a Team Captain and creating a team online, please Click Here. You will have the option of creating your team, registering team members and using a host of online tools to help you manage your team more efficiently.
*After the Team Captain creates the team and when inviting others to join that team, have them follow these simple steps to complete the registration process online:
•Select Category … you can select any category and participate on a Team, i.e., Adult Walk, Adult Run, Kids Walk or scroll down for 1K Walk or Sleep in for the Cure.
•Once you have selected the Category, click on Continue at the bottom of the page.
•If you already have an account you can enter your email and password to continue to registration. If you do not have an account, you will be prompted to create an account as you register.
•Enter Participant Information … name, address, phone, breast cancer survivor and t-shirt size.
•Under TEAM INFORMATION, click JOIN A TEAM. You need to make sure you click “Join a Team” in order to choose your team.
•Select your team name from the list or you can enter the team name in the search box. Please make sure you click on the team name once you find it, before moving on to the next step.
•Complete Waiver and Agreements, type in your Electronic Signature and click on Continue.
•You will then be directed to “Review Cart & Check Out.” Complete the payment and then click “Complete” at the bottom of the page.
•To confirm you are on the team, you will receive an email registration confirmation message which will read: "You are successfully registered as a team member on XXXXX." If your emailed registration confirmation message does not confirm this information, you are not on the team.
•If you registered incorrectly, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Team members do not have to participate in the same event on Race Day. Some may want to participate in the 5K Run, then join the rest of the team for the 5K walk. Others may want to support your team from afar by registering for Sleep in for the Cure®. Whatever event members choose, the goal is the same--to end breast cancer forever!

Race Day gathering:
There is not a specific area designated for each team. Please be sure to communicate a meeting place with your team members and allow ample time to organize before the Race. We encourage team signs and cell phone use to easily locate your team members.
